INTRODUCTION
Why the name Desert Medical you ask? Besides the great way it sounds there is a history behind it.
Desert Medical began in 1990, as Desert Products. It was a Nevada corporation with emphases on developing products to help humanity and the environment. At that time many company names in Nevada had Desert as part of their name. We decided to carry on that tradition. This is where the Desert in our name came from.
We then moved to Tennessee and changed our name to RAJA Holding Co. and Desert Medical became a subsidiary of the mother corp. Medical just seemed to fit better since we produce medical devices.
Our other sister company is Marine Supply Co. It is a Marine parts and accessory supplier and has a website at www.marinesupplyco.com.
The company is dedicated to providing safety products for
people and the environment.
Safety products for business and industry to protect workers and the environment
from injuries and contamination.
The management team's experience, training and past successes has enable the company to effectively maneuver itself through the early start-up phase and now into a controlled, rapid growth phase.
The following product development is designed to reduce the number of needle stick injuries by 30% or more. This system is a biomedical waste disposal container available in four sizes, 2 gallon, 6 gallon, 12 gallon and 25 gallon sizes.
The Sharps BankÒ Biomedical Waste Container SystemÔ, is a box within a box, each made of corrugated cardboard, and a durable plastic liner separating the two boxes. Because of its unique (Patten Pending) triple-layer design, the chances are greatly reduced, that contaminated needles will puncture the container and injure a health care worker or that contaminated liquids will leak out.
The Sharps Bank Waste Container has many advantages over other biomedical waste containers currently being used. The corrugated cardboard construction makes the Sharps Bank more suitable than currently used hard plastic containers for incineration at a medical facility or dispose at a landfill. The Sharps Bank Biomedical Waste Container System is also much less expansive than current hard plastic containers and stores flat to save valuable storage space in hospitals.
Desert Medical, Inc. will continue to develop safety products for the environment and the workers in business and industry.
* Sharps Bank, is a registered trade mark of Desert Medical, Inc., Triple-layer Biomedical Waste system is a Patten Pending medical device.
