THE SHARPS BANK 

    At Desert Medical, we produce the industries most revolutionary Biomedical Waste Disposal Units - The Sharps Bank. It comes in four sizes.  These revolutionary units have 3 parts to the container:  The Outer Shell, The Plastic Liner, and The Inner Liner.  These containers can improve your regulatory compliance and they're environment friendly too!  Unlike other Biohazardous waste containers that are all plastic, the Sharps Banks are made mostly of  paper.  This means they decompose faster in Land Fills, or when incinerated, helps the burning process.  When incinerated it produces carbon dioxide and water with a minimum ash residue.  This helps the environment by not producing such harsh fumes like a plastic container.  Our Sharps Bank is designed to meet the needs of high volume areas like Laboratories, Operating Rooms, and Emergency Rooms. 

Some other features of these containers are:

• The Sharps Bank containers help you comply with OSHA Safety Regulations, State Health, Environment Regulations, The Federal EPA Regulations, CDC Recommendations, and comply with DOT requirements.
• The two large handles on each side of the container are designed to keep contaminants at a safe distance from the handler, in addition the handles can with stand total container weight of 65 lbs. in volume.
• The large center opening is easily accessible for disposal of vials, specimen containers, glass, gloves, gowns, drapes, and larger I.V. bags.  When the container is full just close the large cover and insert the locking tab into tab slot, then tape to secure.
• The specially designed locking bottom of the outer container and the inner container folding bottom, create a strong all around container to resist punctures and hold a volume weight of 65 pounds.
